Dassault Mirage F1 by Andy Evans (Warpaint Series No.142) is an English-language monograph on the French Mirage F1 fighter from the British Warpaint Series. It is a publication, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A softcover publication in A4 format in English, whose author is Andy Evans. The Warpaint Series treats a single aircraft type in each volume and besides the history it brings reference material for building a model. It is not a kit or an accessory, but a book.
The Mirage F1 left behind the delta wing Dassault had used until then and received a conventional swept wing with tail surfaces, which gave it better behavior at low speeds and a longer endurance. The French air force used it as an interceptor as well as a machine for attacks on ground targets, and besides France a number of air forces in Europe, Africa and the Middle East operated it. Just as varied is the register of camouflages, from desert schemes to the gray finishes of the later years, which makes the type a rewarding subject for modelers. Dassault built the Mirage F1 in versions for interception, for attacks on ground targets, for reconnaissance and for training, and many operators kept it flying for decades after production ended. The individual versions differ in the nose, the armament and the equipment, so the choice of a particular machine decides how the model is built.
For modelers who build the Mirage F1 in one of the usual scales and need reference for markings and camouflage, and for readers interested in the aviation of the second half of the twentieth century. The text is in English; the drawings and the profiles will serve even without a knowledge of the language.
