English Electric Canberra is a monograph on the British jet bomber. It came out as volume 60 of the British Warpaint series, which gives each volume to a single aircraft type and brings its development, service and appearance together in one A4 booklet. The author of the volume is Charles Stafrace. The publication is in English. It is neither a kit nor an accessory for building a model.
The Canberra was a British twin-jet bomber with exceptional performance at high altitude, thanks to which it long stayed out of reach of the interceptors of its day. A whole family of versions grew out of the original bomber: the B.5 and B.6 bombers, the PR.7 and PR.9 photo-reconnaissance machines and the B(I).6 and B(I).8 interdictor machines. In the United States the type was built under license as the Martin B-57. The service career of the type stretched out over decades.
The book is meant for modelers of jet subjects and for anyone interested in British aviation after the Second World War. The combination of photographs, drawings and color schemes serves as a reference both for the build and for painting the model.
