A plastic kit of the GBN-Base Gundam from the Japanese manufacturer Bandai, from the High Grade range for the Gundam Build Divers series. The parts are injection-molded in plastic of separate colors and join by snapping together, so the model can be built without glue and without paints. In appearance the machine is close to the classic Gundam RX-78-2, from which it differs most markedly in its colors.
The GBN-Base Gundam is a machine from the Gundam Build Divers universe, where what matters is not wartime action but competition in a simulated environment. It is designed as the basic, starting machine of a player, and that is why it quotes the best known Gundam of all. The manufacturer does not color it in the television shades: the armor is of pearl white plastic and the yellow, blue and red parts are in a livelier, almost fluorescent finish. The joint system is the same as the related frame of the same range, thanks to which the model has a wide range of movement and holds more dynamic poses too. According to the manufacturer the package holds the machine's standard armament: a beam rifle, a shield and a beam saber.
Clip the parts off with nippers away from the face of the part and level the remainder of the sprue gate with a knife and fine sanding, with particular care on colored plastic — a white remnant on a colored part shows at once. Bring out the panel lines with a fine panel line marker or a wash. If you want to even out the sheen, spray the finished model with a flat varnish. If you are going to paint, lay down a primer first, because paint holds poorly on smooth plastic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
