An English-language monograph from the Warpaint aviation series, published by Guideline Publications. The text was written by Charles Stafrace. This is a publication, not a kit. The volume follows the tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing from the first projects through the individual versions to its withdrawal from service, and alongside the bomber machines the electronic EF-111A Raven gets its space as well.
The F-111 carried a two-man crew side by side, a radar for terrain-following flight and a pair of turbofan engines; in combat it served from Vietnam through the 1986 strike on Libya to the Gulf War. Alongside the tactical versions of the US Air Force a strategic variant for the bomber force came about, as did machines for Australia, which operated them the longest. The crew had no conventional ejection seats, but a separable capsule rescued as a whole. The wing swept back in flight, so the same machine managed both a long flight with low fuel consumption and a fast run at low altitude.
For modelers looking for detailed pictorial material and a basis for the markings when building the F-111 in any scale, and for readers interested in American tactical aviation of the Cold War. The text is in English. Check the extent, the arrangement and the language edition on the box.
