A publication, not a kit. Volume 73 of the aviation series from the British publisher Warpaint Books, by Kev Darling, is devoted to the North American B-25 Mitchell. The color artwork for the volume was prepared by Richard J Caruana. The text is in English and the softcover format is close to A4.
The B-25 was an American twin-engine medium bomber named after General Billy Mitchell, an advocate of an independent air arm. Today it is best known for April 1942, when a group of Mitchells took off from the deck of an aircraft carrier for the raid on Tokyo, although it had not been built for carrier operations at all. The type changed a great deal during the war: the B-25G and B-25H versions received a 75 mm cannon in the nose, in the Pacific there were conversions with many machine guns in the nose for low-level attacks against ships and ground targets, and some of the aircraft went to Allied air arms, including the British and the Soviet. The differences between the versions are clearly visible on a model, because they change the whole nose and the armament.
For modelers who build the Mitchell in 1:72 or 1:48 scale and need to tell the versions and their markings apart, and for anyone interested in the bomber forces of the Second World War. The extent of the volume is not stated here; the page count differs between the individual titles in the series.
