Responsibility details are not available.
An English-language monograph from the Warpaint aviation series, published by Guideline Publications. This is a publication, not a kit. The volume is devoted to the American observation and reconnaissance floatplane Vought OS2U Kingfisher. It follows the prototype, the production versions including the machines from license production, service with the US Navy, operations from seaplane bases and service abroad.
The Kingfisher had a single radial engine and a central float with auxiliary floats under the wingtips, and it was launched by catapult from battleships and cruisers; after it landed on the water a crane lifted it back on deck. Some of the machines could be refitted with a wheeled landing gear and operated from land. Besides observation and gunfire spotting the type made its name by rescuing downed airmen from the open sea. It was slow and lightly armed, but it could stay for hours over the water and it took rough handling on a heavy sea.
For builders of Kingfisher kits in 1:32, 1:48 and 1:72 and for readers interested in the naval aviation of the Second World War. The text is in English. Check the extent, the arrangement and the language edition on the box.
