An Eduard masking set A6M2 Zero Type 21 Weekend 1:48. The masks stick straight onto the clear part and do away with cutting shapes out of masking tape by hand.
Responsibility details are not available.
Despite the bare name, this is not a kit nor an etched set, but a set of masking templates. The masks are cut for the parts of Eduard's kit of the Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Type 21 carrier fighter in the Weekend version, which is also the only thing that sets this item apart from the etched set of the same name. Eduard is a Czech maker from Obrnice near Most, and the masks belong to its standard range of accessories.
The A6M2 Type 21 is an early carrier version of the Japanese Zero fighter with folding wingtips, which let it fit into a ship's elevators. The cockpit has a long, divided canopy with pronounced framing, so masking is more work than on models with a simple bubble. A model in 1:48 scale is the usual compromise between size and amount of detail.
Degrease the clear part and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing with tweezers and lay them on dry, then press them down with a soft tool so that the edges seat. Spray the interior shade first and only then the outside color, so that the frame does not show through from within. Take them off shortly after the paint has set, while the edge is not yet brittle.
The package holds masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
