Acrylic Bases - Round 40 mm CLEAR BLUE

Acrylic Bases - Round 40 mm CLEAR BLUE

Acrylic Bases - Round 40 mm CLEAR BLUE is a round gaming base 40 mm in diameter from the Spanish label Green Stuff World; the CLEAR BLUE color designation is given in the name. It differs from a display base in purpose: it does not stand in a display case but on the gaming table, where its size is part of the game. The diameter is what the distance to a target is measured by, what reach is judged by and what sets how much room the model takes up in a formation.

A larger format for bulkier models

A diameter of 40 mm is noticeably larger than bases for small infantry, so it suits models with a wider stance, a sweeping pose or bulkier gear that will not fit on a small circle. With models like that a uniform size matters doubly: as soon as two different diameters come together in one unit, how the unit is drawn up and how it is measured from come apart as well.

When to reach for it

• You need a round base exactly 40 mm in diameter.
• You want to tell one of the sides or one squad apart with the blue version.
• You are bringing base sizes into line across a collection.
• You are looking for a gaming base, not an ornamental plinth for a display case.

Who it is for

For players of tabletop battle games and collectors of figures who care that the size of a base matches the rest of an army. Take the shape, the diameter and the color designation from the name; the number of pieces in the package and the thickness are given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
