A warm yellow orange tone on the border of both colors, in a bottle of seventeen milliliters. It covers even in a thin layer, stays completely matte once dry and serves well as an intermediate step in smooth transitions.

The shade named after a ripe mango sits on the border where yellow ends and orange begins. It is exactly such intermediate tones that tend to be the rarest in a palette, because they mix badly - combining a pure yellow with a pure orange usually gives a muddy color, whereas a ready-made intermediate step keeps its brightness. Anyone building a transition from light to shadow on a warm surface will save an hour of trying things out on the palette with it.
It does its best service as the middle step. A saturated orange goes on the lower layer, the upper edges get a light yellow and this tone joins the two so that no line is visible between them. The technique is used on flames, on a sunset in the background of a diorama, on heated metal and on fabric with a pronounced break of light. It works with a brush as well as by layering thin mists.
Fruit and plant motifs, construction machines with a striking finish, sports motorcycles, gaming figures with warm color, but also foliage on an autumn tree, where it suits as the middle tone between green and brown. It also finds use on small areas as a secondary color that gives a scene warmth without overpowering the main motif.
The matte surface once dry is an advantage for this role: a transition on a glossy paint gives itself away by the reflection, while on a matte surface it stays unobtrusive. The range is sold shade by shade, so it can also be got on its own as a complement to an existing palette.
