Acrylic Filter Yellow from AMMO of Mig Jimenez is a yellow acrylic filter with which the surface of a model is brightened and warmed instead of being dirtied.
Responsibility details are not available.
In modeling practice a yellow filter is used differently from the dark shades. It is not meant to dirty anything but to shift a whole surface toward a warmer tone, so that the model looks as if a stronger sun were shining on it and the colors gain a depth that a uniform coat from an airbrush does not have. The range is acrylic, that is thinnable with water.
A yellow filter comes into its own best on upper surfaces, that is on the tops of turrets, on roofs, engine decks and the upper sides of wings, exactly where real paint would fade and warm up under the light. On green and olive camouflage it shifts the tone toward a grass green, on desert shades it brings out the sand, and on gray surfaces it takes the cool cast away. A transition across a surface also gives an interesting effect: the upper parts brightened with yellow, the lower ones left in the original shade.
For modelers who already have the basic spraying in hand and want to move on to color modulation. For the weathering of desert and southern European vehicles it is among the most used shades of all.
This is not an opaque paint. Keep out of the reach of children and work in a ventilated room.
