A hand drill holder into which one of the four supplied collets is fitted as needed. Each collet covers a different range of diameters, so a single tool will hold a tiny bit as well as a thicker shank. You drill by hand, that is by turning the tool between your fingers, which with thin bits is safer than an electric drill.
Choose the collet so that the shank of the bit is gripped all the way around, otherwise the bit will spin in the holder or snap. Mark the spot with a point first, so that the bit does not skate across a smooth surface. Do not press, as the bit will find its own way, and when drilling into resin or metal remove the swarf in small steps and withdraw the bit regularly. Put the collets back into the holder or the box after work; on their own they are easily lost.
It is worth fitting a bit for just a few holes and then swapping it. Changing diameters is quick and every hole then comes out right the first time.
The bits are thin and fragile. Protect your eyes while drilling and keep the tool out of the reach of children.
