A stencil for spraying with an airbrush. It transfers a repeated pattern onto a model, onto the terrain of a diorama and onto a base.
Responsibility details are not available.
A spray stencil is a simple aid with a large effect: you lay it on a surface, spray over it, and exactly the pattern cut into the stencil is left on the model. Painting the same motif by hand with a brush takes many times longer and only rarely comes out as regular. It suits the surfaces of vehicles and aircraft, the terrain of a diorama and bases and backdrops, where a repeated texture is meant to show.
Lay the stencil on only once the base coat has dried through and hold it so that it lies flat over the whole area; wherever it stands off, the paint will creep under. Spray at low pressure, perpendicular from above and in thin coats, rather in several passes. A wet coat creeps under the edges and smears the edge of the pattern. Once it is removed, the motif can be repeated alongside or layered over itself in a different shade, which creates the impression of an irregular, long weathered surface.
Try the pattern on a piece of plastic or on card first, and only then go to the model. Clean the stencil after work while the paint is fresh; dried paint clogs the cut-outs and the drawing is then lost. Keep it flat so that it does not warp. The particular motif of the cut-outs, the size of the sheet and the recommended use are given by the manufacturer.
A stencil is supplied. Paints, a model and an airbrush are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
