American Armor in Vietnam is a reference publication of the AK Interactive imprint devoted to the American armor put into action in Vietnam. It is a book, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A printed publication of the AK Interactive imprint focused on American armor in the period of the Vietnam conflict. It is neither a model nor an accessory, but a reference book for modelers who want to base their kits on period sources instead of on guesswork.
It pays to have a reference publication open as early as when the model is being planned, not only when it is being painted. Period photographs decide the shade of the base color, where the surface is scuffed and where it is only dusty, and the placing of the markings, which on vehicles in the field often differ from one to another. Dust and mud in a damp tropical setting moreover dry differently than on a dry front, which shows on the model mainly on the underside of the hull and on the running gear. So take the photographs as a source for laying the effects out, not as a pattern to be copied literally — the light when the photograph was taken always shifts the shade.
For modelers of military equipment who build American armored vehicles of this period and want the color finish, the markings and the state of the surface to be founded on evidence. It will serve just as well when building a single vehicle as when preparing a diorama.
