Tamiya AS-12 Bare-Metal Silver is an aircraft spray of synthetic lacquer (Aircraft Spray) in a 100 ml pressurized can, supplied ready for immediate use. The AS range was developed for faithful aircraft model shades, and AS-12 offers a silver metallic tone meant to imitate bare metal, that is the natural metal finish. It suits unpainted metal aircraft whose structure was left in the shine of raw duralumin.

Use

• Shake the can thoroughly for several tens of seconds before spraying.
• Spray from a distance of about 25–30 cm in thin, even coats.
• Apply it over clean plastic or over a cured primer; a smooth glossy base will bring out the metallic look.
• Several thin coats are better than one thick one: you will limit runs and keep the surface fine.
• Let it dry between coats; details can then be picked out with acrylic or enamel paints.
