ATOM COLOR Grey Brown is a modeling paint from the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez from the ATOM range. A gray-brown shade, that is a subdued tone on the border of gray and brown, typical of equipment and dust.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade is named in full ATOM COLOR Grey Brown and in the ATOM range it stands at the end of the gray group, just before the violet tones begin. Gray-brown is among the most useful subdued colors in modeling: it lies between two neutral poles, so it reads neither cold like a pure gray nor warm like a brown. That is exactly why it suits materials that have no clear-cut color in reality: weathered wood, worn cloth, dusty surfaces and areas that get walked on.
The paint will please modelers of military vehicles and figure painters alike, because gray-brown is everywhere in the world of models. It also proves itself on dioramas and terrain, where it is meant to tie surfaces together and take some of the color out of them. Anyone who builds a lot of scenes with wood, soil and equipment will appreciate that this shade fits almost everywhere and needs no elaborate backup.
Mix the paint well before working: after standing for a while the pigment settles to the bottom and unmixed paint gives a different tone. Work in thin coats and apply the next only once the previous one has dried; a single thick coat floods the detail. A test coat on an offcut of sprue will show you how the shade looks once dry. You will find the instructions for application and drying on the packaging from the manufacturer, so stick to them. Ventilate the room and store the paint out of the reach of children.
