Six acrylic shades of the ATOM range put together for the American Mustang fighter. It covers the upper olive, the lower neutral gray, the interior green, a matte white, a matte black and an aluminum metallic.

The American P-51 fighter was built in two entirely different guises. The older machines wore an olive drab upper finish and light gray undersides; the later ones came out of the factory in bare metal. This set covers both, because besides the olive and the gray it also contains an aluminum metallic. To these are added three supplementary shades without which a build cannot do.
The olive and the neutral gray make up the basic camouflage pair. The greenish protective finish belongs in the cockpit, in the landing gear bays and on the inner faces of the covers. The matte black suits the anti-glare panel in front of the cockpit and the tires, the matte white the quick-recognition stripes and the national insignia. The aluminum metallic will cover the whole airframe on late machines, or just the engine cowling on earlier ones.
Putting six shades together one by one off the shelf means risking that the pair of upper and lower colors will not meet in the right ratio of saturation. A six put together in advance removes that problem, and the range is at the same time enough for a model of another American machine of the same period.
The paint is water-thinnable and can be applied with a brush and with a gun alike. For an even olive surface several lighter coats work well, because one heavy one pulls back at the edges.
The aircraft model is sold separately.
