A plastic science fiction kit from the Japanese brand Bandai, the version designated Bravo Tango in the name. Bandai builds on the snap-fit system: the parts are already colored in the plastic and snap together without glue. For the customer that means you can start building as soon as you open the box, without buying chemicals and without ventilating the workshop. The manufacturer also makes other versions of the same range, told apart by the designation in the name; check what exactly they differ in on the box.
This is precisely the main reason people buy Bandai. A conventional injection-molded kit presupposes cement for plastic, paints, thinner and a ventilated spot. Here modeling nippers and a quiet moment at the table will do. Once assembled the model is color-separated, and it can be built with children too, or in the evening in front of a series, with the proviso that sharp tools belong in adult hands.
Separate the parts from the sprue in two stages: first a cut further from the part, and only then level the rest. White plastic on an edge comes from pressure, not from cutting, so make the second cut gently and tidy up any stub with a scalpel and fine abrasive paper. Work subassembly by subassembly, do not take more parts off the sprues at once and put the small components aside in a dish. If the build catches you, you can carry on: pick out the engraved lines with a paneliner, a matte varnish to unify the surface and, if you like, repaint selected parts with an airbrush after laying down a thin primer.
The model is built by snapping the parts together; glue is not needed for assembly. Paints, varnishes and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
