Imitations of countersunk screws with a star recess and a nominal diameter of 0.8 mm, the first step of the coarser half of the line.

0.8 mm is the size at which the upper part of the graded range begins. The head already has a noticeable area, so the star recess in the middle is visible even from the viewing distance of a display cabinet and does not disappear under a single coat of paint.
A finished scaled-down model is usually looked at from thirty to fifty centimeters. At that distance the eye picks out discontinuities of the surface better than fine engraving, and it is exactly there that a fastener standing out in relief pays off. On a motorcycle model that means mainly the radiator covers, the side plastics, the footpeg mounts and the lower part of the fairing.
A diameter of 0.8 mm is among the most widespread with this manufacturer, because it is offered in practically every shape of line it makes. Anyone building several machines can thus easily match the look of the heads across a whole cabinet while alternating the shapes according to the type of screw the real subject has in each place. For a first acquaintance with this range this size tends to be a sensible choice, because it is easy to fit and still does not get lost on a finished model even seen from a distance.
