At this diameter the head stops being a mere dot and becomes a recognizable shape. The hex has distinct faces, the collar beneath it a readable transition. On a real motorcycle such joints correspond to the mounting of fenders, headlight brackets or tank covers, that is to places where the bolt is seen close up.
The most common mistake is not in the drilling but in what the part finally sits on. The collar seats around its whole circumference, so any unevenness around the hole shows up as a tilted head. Get ready, then:
A dry test tells you more than anything else: fit the part, look at it against the light and check whether there is a gap under the collar. Only then comes a thin drop and light pressure from above, not sideways. Degreasing the surface with alcohol just before gluing increases the strength of the joint more than a larger amount of glue.
