An eight-tenth assembly for both sides

This grade is among the most manageable: the parts can already be held in tweezers without needless shaking and the joint is at the same time small enough not to look coarse on a model. A frame, the mounting of a brake pedal or the brackets of brake lines are typical places where it makes sense to deal with the far side as well.

First check the access

The key question is not what the joint looks like but whether you can reach it at all. The back tends to be inaccessible once a sub-assembly is glued, and threading a nut on afterward with tweezers two centimeters down is work for a patient person with a very thin tool. Therefore:

• Consider the order of the build and install the trio before the assembly closes up.
• Thin bent pliers or long tweezers help where depth is already a problem.
• A mirror on a stick shows whether the nut on the back sits level.
• A dry trial assembly of the whole sub-assembly reveals inaccessible places before any glue flows.

When it is already closed

If the back has closed up and cannot be reached, nothing is lost: use only the bolt with the washer from the front and save the nut for another place. Visually the result is the same, you have only lost fidelity where nobody can see. Spending half an hour on a joint that disappears under the tank really is not worth the effort.
