Nine tenths of a millimeter across the flats, a hex with a wide ring under the head. The middle rung of the scale, forming the transition between delicate and heavy anchoring.

Nine tenths of a millimeter tends to be overlooked when planning a build, because builders like to jump in whole tenths from eight straight to one. In the brand's scale it is a full rung, and the manufacturer offers it in more than twenty different shape families. It is precisely here that the break lies between anchoring that is to be discreet and anchoring that is to be seen.
The comparison works both ways. Against the lower rung the top here is a tenth wider, which seen from above means a noticeably larger face, because that grows with the square. Against the higher rung it stays slimmer instead and takes better to the company of delicate photo-etched parts. Anyone building one joint group from several pieces will appreciate that it is possible to go from here in both directions without a jump.
Before gluing, check that the ring does not overhang onto a curved surface. On a curve it seats on only part of its circumference and the joint then holds less well; in such a place it is better to level a small flat with a file. Apply the paint only after seating, otherwise a layer builds up under the head and the top is visually raised. Anyone working on several joint groups at once will do well to divide the rungs into dishes beforehand according to where they are destined.
