A set of cast beer mugs in a clear version. The transparency matters here: the drink is imitated by coloring from the inside or with a drop of clear resin, so the glass looks full rather than like a plastic imitation painted brown. In a diorama these are the details a viewer enjoys hunting for.
The mugs suit tavern and inn interiors, tables in camps, the hands of figures, counters, crates and the props of historical and fantasy scenes alike. They work splendidly wherever you want to suggest rest or celebration, because a single mug set down on a table tells a whole story.
Paint the glasses from the inside or fill them with tinted clear resin, and only to part of their volume so that the surface of the drink stays visible. Suggest the head with a drop of white compound or paste, not with paint. Leave the outer walls clean and finish them with a gloss varnish, which completes the look of glass.
