A shade from the Cobra Motor line, which AMMO of Mig Jimenez builds specifically for car modelers. The colors in the line carry the names of particular cars, makers and racing liveries, so they are chosen by the model being built rather than by a generic name for the tone. Repsol Red is the red component of the Repsol livery, known above all to fans of road motorcycle racing; it is built on a combination of orange and red with a light base, so the red alone makes up only part of the result.

Use

• The cowling and tank of racing motorcycle models, and bodies and additional parts in the same tone.
• A deep red needs a light base. Over a gray or patchy base coat it darkens and goes gray.
• Apply in thin coats and let them dry. A heavy coat floods the engraved lines of the cowling.
• The transitions between the orange and the red areas call for careful masking and a sharp tape edge.
• The manufacturer offers its own thinner and cleaner for the Cobra Motor line, available separately.
