Mineshima I-28 is a modeling file of triangular section, 140 mm long, with a fine cut, for cleaning up sprue gates.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single file of the Japanese brand Mineshima with a triangular section. The overall length is one hundred and forty millimeters, the working part measures roughly three and a half millimeters across and roughly three millimeters in thickness. The cut corresponds to a fine grade, so the file removes material slowly and leaves a surface you can go straight on to sanding from.
Work by pushing away from yourself and in one direction, because a back-and-forth movement tears plastic rather than removing it. Keep the pressure light, otherwise the surface heats up and smears. The teeth clog quickly with plastic dust, so tap or brush them out from time to time, otherwise the file slides and starts making scratches. After filing, go over the area with fine sandpaper so that the marks of the teeth disappear.
For builders of plastic kits who want joints with no remains of sprue gates, and for anyone who needs to work in a narrow corner. A triangular section is the usual first choice for exactly those sharp inner angles.
The tool has sharp teeth and a point. Store it out of the reach of children and, during longer work, protect your airways from plastic dust.
