Cross Silhouette Frame [Green]

Cross Silhouette Frame - the green form

A Bandai add-on set, not a complete kit. It contains the parts of the inner skeleton for SD kits of the Cross Silhouette system, this time in green plastic. It is bought either for a base kit you already have, or as stock material for your own rebuilds.

What the inner frame is for

With this system the inner structure is interchangeable and sets both the proportions and the mobility of the finished figure. The green variant suits anywhere it matches the model in color - the structure tends to be visible in the seams, in the joints and in places where the parts do not meet tightly. Anyone building their own combinations of parts will appreciate above all getting a complete set of joints and connectors at once, with no need to sacrifice another model. What exactly is in the package is given in the description on the original box.

Building and painting tips

Try assembling the whole set dry first and check which joints are loose - with small pins a few tenths of a millimeter of play is enough for a pose not to hold. A loose pin is firmed up with a drop of super glue and sanding, while a stiff one is eased with a light trim of a knife. If you are going to paint, avoid a heavy coat directly on the mating surfaces: the paint will rub off anyway and in the meantime the joint will stiffen. It is more practical to flatten the surface, spray a thin primer and choose a darker shade, so that the structure does not distract in the seams. Green plastic takes a dark wash well, which brings out the division of the skeleton.

Who the accessory is for

• For owners of SD kits of the Cross Silhouette system
• For modelers who combine parts and need spare joints
• For collectors who match the color of the structure showing through to the model
• It does not suit anyone looking for a complete model of a robot in the package

This is an add-on set, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
