Lifecolor NMM Steel - steel with the non-metallic metal technique

The set holds six bottles of matte water-thinnable acrylic put together for painting steel and similar cold metals with the non-metallic metal (NMM) technique. The shades contain no metallic pigment - the impression of shiny metal comes from painting highlights and shadows, so the surface looks as if it were reflecting directional light and the colors around it. It is a popular palette for painting figures.

Use

  • The shades are applied in layers and blended smoothly into highlights and shadows.
  • Ideal for swords, armor and the metal details of figures and busts.
  • It is applied by brush; thinned with water or Lifecolor thinner.
  • The matte surface can be tuned with gloss varnish where you want to emphasize a reflection.

Who the set is for

It will serve painters of figures and busts who want to achieve a convincing metal look without using metallic paints.

The paints are water-thinnable and low in odor; even so, work in a ventilated room and protect your skin and eyes.
