The A5 cutting mat from the Italian brand Italeri is part of the basic equipment of a modeling desk. It is used as a firm working surface when separating parts from sprues, trimming flash, cutting decals and cutting masking tape. It is not a model or part of one but a tool – bought once and it lasts a long time. The A5 format is deliberately small: it does not take up the whole table, it can be carried over to work in progress and it fits into a modeling box without trouble.
