A pre-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit and it is not a model, but an accessory for modelers in 1:72 scale that makes masking the canopy glazing and the wheels more accurate and faster when spraying paint. The precisely shaped masks are made of fine Japanese kabuki tape.
The masks are applied to the canopy frames and to the wheel rims, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the tires stay free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts to curved shapes, holds tight and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The result is sharp, straight canopy frame lines with no laborious cutting of tape by hand.
The de Havilland Vampire was one of the first British jet aircraft, distinctive for its twin-boom tail and short fuselage. The T.11 version was the two-seat trainer conversion with side-by-side seats, used to train jet pilots. It was powered by a single jet engine and the machine was one of the mainstays of postwar British training.
The set contains pre-cut masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
