The darker skin tone is used on faces, necks, hands and exposed arms of figures. In a squad or unit where characters need to be recognizable at a glance, it lets you set them apart from the lighter skin shades in the same range. It also serves anywhere skin should look tanned or sun-exposed, and for touching up a spot worn by handling the figure.
