A monograph from the Warpaint book series about the British de Havilland D.H.82 Tiger Moth trainer biplane. The Warpaint series treats one aircraft type at a time, its development, its versions and its service with the individual users. The text is in English.
The Tiger Moth first flew in the early 1930s and grew out of the earlier machines of the Moth line. It is a two-seat biplane with open cockpits in tandem and a de Havilland Gipsy inverted inline engine. The upper wings were swept back, which made access to the front cockpit easier. During the Second World War thousands of British and Allied pilots went through basic training on it, and the machines were built overseas as well. After the war a large part of the aircraft passed into private hands and a number of them still fly today.
The book suits a modeler who is looking for reference on the shape, the equipment and the finishes of particular Tiger Moths, and equally a reader interested in interwar and wartime training aviation. It is a title to work with and to leaf through.
This is a book title. A kit, decals and accessories do not come with it, unless stated otherwise.
