What the material is for

A turf is a piece of growth complete with its base that is set onto finished terrain and makes a scene look like a slice of landscape. Small turfs suit places where tall growth would get in the way: along rails and tracks, at the feet of posts and fences, into the joints between paving or on the edge of a ditch. The spring shade aims at a fresh green with no dry or scorched tones, that is at scenes from early in the year, when the growth is low and uniform in color.

What the package offers

A scenery material: small grass turfs for a diorama as well as for bases. The number of pieces, the size of the turfs and the volume of the package are given on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions. The material is not tied to a single scale; with the size of the model only the apparent height of the growth and how densely you place it over the area change.

Usage tips

• work only on finished and painted terrain, not into fresh modeling compound
• pick the turfs up with tweezers, as the underside is easily clogged with your fingers
• check on the packaging whether they have an adhesive underside; if not, set them on a drop of PVA glue
• place them irregularly and leave trodden-down and bare spots between them
• sprinkle a fine scatter over the base of the turf, so that the trace of glue disappears
• you can blend the fresh green with the rest of the scene with a thin veil of thinned paint from a distance

A scenery material is supplied. The base, the model, the glue, the paints and any further elements of scenery are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
