A liquid pigment in an enamel form, a dry mud shade. It leaves a matte, grainy deposit of dried soil on suspensions, wheels and the undersides of vehicles.

A liquid pigment is a ready mix of a colored powder and a carrier liquid. It is applied with a brush, the liquid evaporates and a matte, grainy deposit is left on the surface that reads as real settled dirt. Compared with a loose pigment it can be aimed more precisely and once dry it holds by itself, with no further binder. It comes in everywhere it should be apparent on a model that the machine has been driven: on the suspension and the wheels, on the lower edges of fenders, in the gaps of the superstructure and on the footwear of figures.
This shade aims at soil that has already dried on a machine: lighter and dustier than fresh mud, with a cast toward beige. It holds higher up on the sides of a vehicle and in the places where a damp deposit dried long ago, so it goes well with darker earthy shades. The deposit can be graded: darker and wetter down at the ground, drier and lighter toward the top. According to the name it is an enamel product, so it is not thinned with water.
Shake the bottle well before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply it over smaller areas with a stippling motion of the brush, so that the deposit comes out not as an even film but as an irregular build-up. Judge the result only once it has dried, as a wet deposit is always darker. You level the surplus with a brush moistened in a thinner meant for this range, drawn in the direction water would run. Check the compatibility with the paint you have on the surface in a hidden place on the model beforehand.
