An abrasive paper of 600 grit intended for dry sanding. It suits smoothing filled seams and leveling surfaces before painting a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 600 grit belongs to the finer steps. It is not used for coarse removal of material but for finishing a surface you have already leveled with a coarser paper. It removes the marks of the previous sanding, smooths the transition from putty into plastic and leaves a surface onto which a primer can be applied with no further work. It is especially worth using on the joints of the fuselage and the wings, where the seam should be invisible once painted.
According to the name, the paper is intended for dry sanding. Work without water and dust off both the surface and the paper as you go, because loosened material builds up between the grains and the paper then sands unevenly. Keep a light and steady pressure. Heavier pressure will not speed the work up; it will only round the edges and wipe out the fine surface detail around them. On soft plastic it also easily creates a hollow that only shows up under the paint.
On flat areas, stick a piece of the paper to a hard backing or wrap it around one, otherwise the edge will round off. For narrow places a strip wound onto a wooden stick or a piece of plastic profile will serve. Work through several grits in sequence and look the surface over against the light in between, as scratches show up best that way. Before painting, wash and degrease the model, otherwise the sanding dust will be trapped in the first coat of paint.
The package contains abrasive paper. The model, putty, paints and abrasive bits are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
