AK Interactive Earth (dry) — Modeling Gouache, 20 ml

This is a modeling gouache paint from AK Interactive in a 20 ml tube. Gouache is a water-thinnable covering paint — a combination of covering pigments and a water-based binder. The result is rich, perfectly matte and opaque layers, which are ideal for modeling weathering, since dust and dried earth in reality never have any sheen.

The shade Earth (dry) represents dry earth, or light soil — exactly the tone that clings to the running gear and undersides of vehicles, to figures' boots, to diorama terrain, and to spots where dirt naturally builds up.

Use

• Effects of dust, dirt and dried mud on the undersides and running gear of vehicles, on wheels, tracks and intricate spots where grime collects.
• Coloring and toning diorama terrain and figure bases.
• Applied with a brush and thinned freely with plain water — from a thick covering paste to a thin glaze; this lets you control the strength of the effect.
• Can be applied over ordinary acrylic, enamel and oil paints, and onto plastic, paper, cardboard and other materials.
• A key advantage: once dry, it can be reactivated again with plain water and further blended, softened and adjusted — the effect can therefore always be refined or removed entirely.

Who It Is For

For modelers of military equipment, dioramas and figures who want realistic dust and dried earth with no work with solvents. Thanks to its water base and the ability to reactivate it repeatedly with water, it is an unusually forgiving medium, suited to beginners and to working in an apartment with no extraction.

Safety note: the paint is water-based, thinned and cleaned from brushes with water. It is still not a toy — do not ingest it, avoid eye contact, and keep out of the reach of children. Close the tube carefully after use so the paint does not dry out.
