Madworks 2MM Sanding Sponge Standard Combo Pack

A combination pack of Madworks sanding sponges 2 mm thick. It contains five grits, 320, 400, 600, 800 and 1000, four pieces of each, that is twenty sponges in all. The flexible foam layer under the abrasive makes it possible to sand rounded faces and blends as well, where hard sanding paper on a backing will not seat. It is not a tool with a grip or a sander but a consumable abrasive.

Use

• The coarser grits 320 and 400 for removing gate remnants, parting lines and marks from cutters.
• The medium 600 for evening out filled places and leveling a surface after coarse sanding.
• The fine 800 and 1000 for smoothing a surface before the base coat and for dulling glossy parts.
• The 2 mm thickness suits narrow places, leading edges and the space between raised details.
• Wet sanding is possible; water carries the sanding dust away and the sponge clogs less.

Who the box is for

For modelers who want the whole sequence of grits from coarse sanding through to preparation for lacquer together, and who need to sand rounded and intricate faces. Always work from the coarsest grit to the finest, and clean the surface between steps so that a coarser grain does not scratch an already smoothed surface.

Do not inhale the sanding dust from plastic and ventilate during longer work; wet sanding or a respirator are sensible protection where sanding is done dry. Paints, putties and glues are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
