An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light tank destroyer Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer from the Italian maker Italeri in the classic 1:35 scale. The model is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted kit; the package holds decals for several marking options (the exact list is given in the enclosed instructions).
The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer was a German light tank destroyer of the end of the Second World War. It was built on the proven chassis of the Panzer 38(t) tank and was conceived as a cheaper and lighter alternative to the large tank destroyers. It was distinguished by its low silhouette and its steeply sloped frontal armor, which raised its resistance. The main armament was a 75 mm anti-tank gun in a fixed superstructure on the hull. It went into action in the second half of 1944 and, thanks to its compact dimensions and good protection, became one of the best-known machines of its category.
With military vehicles it pays to assemble and paint the running gear — the wheels, the tracks and the lower hull — before you close the upper parts, which are then harder to reach. Sand the joints of the armor and spray the whole model with a primer. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin layers; for a faithful look use period shades and mask the multi-color camouflage. Add wear at the end — dark washes in the recesses and around the rivets pick the detail out, and lighter pigments on the underside and the running gear suggest dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
