HEKI leaf granulate, autumnal red

Loose foliage from the German maker HEKI in a red autumn shade. A red autumn is striking on a model, but at the same time the most treacherous of all the autumn tones, because in large amounts it slips toward the impression of plastic. It is therefore used deliberately, on individual trees and on small groups of bushes, where it creates the focus of a vignette while the surroundings stay in subdued green and brown.

• adding yellow and brown granulate for a more varied crown

How to work with the foliage

Coat the framework of the tree with flock adhesive or diluted white glue and sprinkle the material from above over a dish placed underneath. You will reach the best result by mixing: sprinkle a little yellow and brown into the red, as a natural autumn tree never has one single color. Then scatter the same granulate in a smaller amount on the ground under the crown as well, so that it is clear where the leaves are falling from.

Who the material is for

For builders of autumn dioramas and layouts and for modelers who want a clear focus of color in a vignette. Red also suits garden scenes, where a colored bush by a house gives away the season sooner than anything else. On a large layout, however, it is handled by the spoonful, not by the handful. It is a loose material; do not inhale it and keep it out of the reach of children. The manufacturer marks its landscaping goods as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
