The package holds 200 ml of small leaves in a light green shade from the Heki company. This is a loose material which is applied to a crown armature glued up in advance or directly to a coated surface. Light green corresponds to the fresh foliage of spring and early summer, when the leaf has not yet darkened.
It most often suits the crowns of trees and bushes, where it replaces coarse foam growth with a finer structure. It will also serve well on ivy and climbing greenery on walls, on hedges and on self-seeded growth at the edge of a wood. Mixing it with a more saturated green is rewarding too: the pale layer then looks like leaves lit by the sun on the outer edge of a crown. A smaller dose sprinkled on the ground under a tree ties the crown into the scene, because leaves also fall outside the growing season.
Coat the area with scenic glue or PVA glue, or dampen it with spray adhesive, and sprinkle the leaves on from above, preferably over a tray. After a moment, tip the model and let the excess fall back into the container; it can be used again. Build the density of the foliage up gradually in two or three doses; one heavy layer looks like a glued-together clump. It is a good idea to fix a finished crown with a light overspray of thinned glue or matte varnish, so that the leaves do not rub off.
It suits builders of dioramas and of the model railroad and anyone who assembles a tree themselves. The glue, a tree armature and other scenery material are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
