Heki rock foil with the relief of a granite surface, two pieces measuring 35 x 24 cm. A quick way to create a stone face in a scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
Rock is slow to model by hand and hard to repeat over a larger area. Foil with the relief of a granite surface shortens that work: it carries a ready-made structure with rough faces, sharp edges and crevices, so all you have to do is fit it to the shape of the terrain and paint it. The package holds two pieces measuring 35 x 24 cm, so one piece covers 840 square centimeters and both together roughly 1680. That will do for the wall of a cutting, for a rock outcrop above a road or for several smaller formations in a scene.
First prepare the rough shape of the rock from a backing material, so that the foil has something to rest on. Cut a piece with an overlap, lay it in dry and try the shape, and only then glue it, with a glue suited to your surface; check how it behaves on an offcut beforehand. Run the joints along a break in the terrain or hide them with rubble and growth, because a straight line in a rock face shows at once. You will find the particular procedure for shaping and fixing in the manufacturer's instructions.
The relief comes out when you draw a thin dark wash into the hollows and go over the raised edges with a dry brush and a paler shade. Rock rarely looks one color, so leave room for a hint of green at the foot and for a paler crest, where dust gathers. Try the paints and the glue on an offcut before you apply them to a finished face.
The package holds two pieces of foil measuring 35 x 24 cm. The glue, the paints, backing material and other accessories for a scene are not included, unless stated otherwise.
