A self-adhesive strip of asphalt roadway in N scale from the Heki company, measuring 100 x 4 cm. It is laid without glue straight onto a prepared surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
N scale tempts you into building long runs of line through country, and a road accompanying them belongs to that. In a small scale, though, a roadway made by hand treacherously fails to come off: every unevenness, joint and uneven width shows under a magnifier. A ready-made strip holds a constant width and surface along its whole length.
The strip measures 100 x 4 cm and is prepared for N scale, that is 1:160. Four centimeters corresponds to a real roadway roughly 6.4 meters wide, and a meter of length to about 160 meters of road. With one piece you can therefore run a road across a whole module.
Level the surface, dry it and remove the dust. First lay the strip out dry and think through where the road will run and where it will join a bridge, a crossing or a village. Only then uncover the adhesive layer step by step and press the surface down from the middle out to the edges, so that no bubbles stay under it. You adjust the length and the shape with a sharp knife against a steel ruler.
The edge decides most of it. Cover the edge of the strip with a fine loose material, grass or dust along the shoulder, so that the road passes into the terrain and does not lie on it. Light toning of the wheel tracks helps in this scale too, where even small differences in shade show surprisingly strongly.
The package holds the road strip. A surface, the paints, vehicles and the other accessories of scenery are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
