Brick Wall with Arcades H0/TT (2 pcs / 50 x 12 cm)

What it is

A Heki scenic wall with the raised texture of brick masonry, divided by a row of arcade arches. The package holds two parts, each 50 x 12 cm, that is a meter of length at a height of twelve centimeters. It is intended for the H0 and TT sizes, that is for 1:87 and 1:120 scale.

Field of use

Arcades turn an ordinary wall into architecture. A row of blind arches belongs to retaining and revetment walls along a line, to underpasses, to the faces of viaducts, to quay walls and to the perimeter walls of older industrial sites. The alternation of light and shadow in the arches also breaks up a uniform surface, so a long stretch of wall does not look dull. A meter of length in two parts is enough for a whole side of a scene, or it can be divided into several shorter stretches.

Painting and fitting

• Lay the scene out dry first and only then cut the parts to size.
• Cut along the joints or between the arches, so that the rhythm of the arcades stays regular.
• Level the surface and remove the dust, otherwise the wall will lift at the edges.
• Glue it with an adhesive suitable both for the material of the part and for the surface the scene is built on.
• Darken the inside of the arches with a glaze and work the edges with a dry brush instead; that is how the arches gain depth.
• Hide the joint of the two parts in a vertical joint between two arches or behind a pier.

Two wall parts are supplied. Paints, glue, filler and other scenic accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
