The real subject

The SF-260 is an Italian two-seat trainer with a piston engine, a low-wing monoplane with tanks on the wingtips and with good agility, thanks to which it was used for basic aerobatic training as well. According to the name of the sheet, these are machines in the SF-260D version in the service of the Turkish Air Force, where the type filled the role of a trainer. The finishes of trainers tend to be striking, so a model of this type will not get lost in a display case.

How the decals are applied

• Varnish the surface under a decal with a gloss clear coat; on a matte surface silvery edges will appear.
• Cut a decal off as close to the motif as you can and soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds.
• Let it rest on paper until it begins to slide freely over the backing.
• Move it onto the moistened spot with a brush and squeeze the water out from under it with a cotton swab.
• On surface relief decal softener helps; once dry, spray the whole model with a matte clear coat.

Who the sheet is for

For modelers who build trainers in 1:48 scale and want to finish a model in less usual markings. Working with decals is undemanding, but it calls for tweezers, a soft brush and calm, so that the thin film does not fold over. Offer the decals up and compare them with the model before applying.
