A set of masks for painting the kit of the Boeing 747-8 from the Zvezda company in 1:144 scale. The parts are cut to suit this kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing 747-8 is the last and longest version of the well-known four-engined wide-body aircraft. The characteristic hump with its upper deck has stayed, but the fuselage is stretched against the older versions and the wing has a new shape with upturned tips. Even after reduction, a model in 1:144 scale therefore takes up a fair piece of room in a display case, and the long straight areas of the fuselage are very well visible on it.
Masks for painting, cut to suit the kit of the Boeing 747-8 from the Zvezda company in 1:144 scale. They will cover the areas that are to stay free of paint and save the work of cutting tape. Compare the extent of the set and the placement of the individual parts with the manufacturer's instructions.
First wash and degrease the surface, or the mask will not adhere and the edge will blur. Lay the mask onto a finished base before spraying the next color and press the edges down with a blunt tool. Apply the paint in several thin layers, so that no ridge arises at the edge. Take it off while the paint is fresh; a dried layer likes to tear during removal. On an airliner with a gloss finish it pays, after taking the masks off, to go over the transitions with a magnifier and to put right any overrun with a brush, because on a smooth surface every unevenness is visible.
For builders of airliners in 1:144 scale who want sharp transitions of color without tedious masking. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
