A set of masks for painting the kit of the Tu-144D from the ICM company in 1:144 scale. The parts are cut to suit this kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tu-144D is a later version of the Soviet supersonic airliner. You will recognize it by the slim fuselage with a delta wing, by the drooping nose section that opens up the view for the crew on landing, and by the small surfaces extended behind the cockpit. Only a few supersonic airliners entered service, and in a display case this machine therefore looks quite different from ordinary transport equipment.
Masks for painting, cut to suit the kit of the Tu-144D from the ICM company in 1:144 scale. They serve to cover the areas that are to stay free of paint, so you can spray the frames and their surroundings without laboriously taping with strips of adhesive tape. Compare the extent of the set and the placement of the individual parts with the manufacturer's instructions.
Stick the masks onto a clean and degreased surface before spraying, not onto paint that has already dried. Press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or the blunt tip of tweezers, so that the paint does not run under them. Spray in thin layers; a thick coat creates a ridge at the edge of the mask that stays visible after removal. Take the mask off while the paint is fresh, best with the point of a knife or with tweezers. What is left behind is a sharp transition of the kind that cannot be achieved freehand in this scale.
For modelers who build airliners in 1:144 scale and want clean frames to the glazing without tedious masking. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
