On a figure a patch is a small thing a few millimeters across, yet it decides who a viewer sees in a scene. Few people can paint one with a brush; a decal does it for you. The sheet in 1:35 scale brings the patches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and of the Security Service.
On figures in present-day uniforms, on the sleeves, the chest and the headgear, according to where a patch belongs. They can also be used on kit laid loose on a diorama, that is on a body armor vest set aside, on a backpack or on a jacket thrown over a seat. Small motifs are more easily laid on a figure before you seat it on its base.
Cut the motif off close to the artwork, or a square border will be visible on the uniform. Coat the base at the place of the patch with a gloss varnish; on the matte color of a uniform the decal would stay visibly sitting on top. Soak it in lukewarm water, slip it into place and fine-tune the position with a damp brush. Then add a decal softener, so that the film sinks into the folds of the cloth, or the patch will look like a surface stuck across the sleeve. Once dry, matte the whole figure down and tie the patch into the rest of the painting with a light glaze, so that it does not stay brighter than the uniform.
For modelers who build present-day scenes with figures and want the markings of affiliation legible and accurate. The package contains only the decal sheet; figures, paints and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
