Sanitary fittings are a detail that establishes the nature of a space at once. A bathtub and a washbasin turn bare walls into a living interior, whether it is a preserved apartment, the makeshift billet of a unit or a ruined house in which a single wall with pipework has been left standing.
The set consists of a bathtub and a washbasin in 1:35 scale rendered in resin. In their dimensions they correspond to ordinary domestic fittings, so they can be combined with other furnishing items of the same scale.
The resin parts are not polystyrene and plastic cement has no effect on them; make the joints with super glue or epoxy. Before painting, wash the surface in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease it. Enamel looks better when it is sprayed not in pure white but in a white broken toward gray, and complemented with a dark wash that brings out the edges and the drain openings. Credibility is helped by a discreet suggestion of limescale and rust around the drain; meter the wear out sparingly, so that the bathtub does not look older than the house around it.
The set is intended for builders of interior dioramas and for modelers who are finishing a cutaway building or a ruin and are looking for furnishing items in the right scale. It will also find a use as the background of a figure scene, where what the room served for is to be visible. A model, a building, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
