The Su-27UB is the two-seat combat trainer version of the heavy Su-27 fighter, with its cockpits arranged one behind the other. The Su-30 is derived from this version and develops it into a two-seat multirole machine. On both of them the crew sits high above the ground, so getting into the cockpit cannot be done without a ladder, and in an airfield scene a ladder stands by the machine every time the crew changes.
The set consists of photo-etched metal parts from which you assemble the ladder. The shape corresponds to the two-seat Su-27UB and Su-30 machines; for the single-seat Su-27 the manufacturer offers a separate set. The metal execution allows thin steps and slender handrails of the kind that could not be made in injection-molded plastic.
The accessory will be appreciated by modelers who build an airfield scene with figures around a finished machine, and by those who display a model with the canopy open and are looking for a reason why the cockpit is open. The package contains only the photo-etched parts. The model of the aircraft, figures, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
