A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the cockpit, the fuselage windows and the wheels of the Convair CV-340 airliner in 1:144 scale. It corresponds in shape to the Roden kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Convair CV-340 belongs to the family of American twin-engine airliners that served mainly on shorter routes after the Second World War. The fuselage carries a dense row of round cabin windows and the glazing of the cockpit divided into several panels, so it is exactly the glazing that tends to be the most laborious part of painting a model. In 1:144 scale these are moreover very small areas, where cutting tape by hand usually ends with uneven edges.
The package brings pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the cockpit, for the cabin windows in the fuselage and for the wheels. The shape of the masks corresponds to the parts of the Roden kit, so it is enough to lift them off the backing film and settle them in place.
Wash the glazing before masking and let it dry thoroughly, as a mask does not hold on a greasy surface. Take the individual parts off with tweezers, settle them dry and press them down around their whole perimeter, so that paint does not get under the edge. Spray in thin coats, as a heavy application likes to tear when the masks are removed. Take the masks off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
The set suits anyone who builds the Convair CV-340 in 1:144 scale and wants sharp transitions on the frames of the glazing without correcting them with a brush. The package contains only masks; the model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
