Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the cabin glazing and the wheel hubs of the Ka-50 attack helicopter and its Ka-50Sh variant in 1:72 scale. They correspond in shape to the Zvezda kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kamov Ka-50 is a Russian attack helicopter with a pair of coaxial main rotors and a single crew member. The cabin is therefore narrow and its glazing consists of several flat panels separated by thick frames, which are clearly visible once sprayed. The set also allows for the Ka-50Sh variant, which comes out of this family of kits.
The package brings pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the cabin and masks for the wheel hubs. The cuts follow the shape of the parts of the Zvezda kits in 1:72 scale, so it is enough to lift them off the backing film and settle them in place.
Wash the clear parts and let them dry, as a mask does not hold on a greasy surface. Take them off with tweezers, lay them on dry and press them down around their whole perimeter, so that paint does not get under the edge. With the flat panels of the cabin it pays to spray the interior color first and only then the outer shade. Take the masks off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch, as an over-dried application tears when they are removed.
The set suits a modeler who builds the Ka-50 in 1:72 scale and wants the frames of the cabin sharp and the wheel hubs separated from the tires without correcting with a brush. The package contains only masks; the model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
