A plastic kit of the hovering motorcycle from the world of Star Wars, specifically from the live-action series The Mandalorian. Scale 1:12 places the model among the larger pieces, on which the shaping and the surface come out well. The maker is the German brand Revell.
In the world of Star Wars a speeder bike is a single-seat fast means of transport that moves just above the ground and is steered rather like a motorcycle. Structurally it is a long slender body with control surfaces at the front and a saddle with a backrest, thanks to which the silhouette is closer to a machine built for a sprint than to an armored vehicle. In the series it appears in a desert setting, so the subject is interesting precisely for its worn, dusty look.
The model has large smooth surfaces on which every imperfection in a joint shows, so it pays to fill and sand the seams. Unify the base with a primer and only then spray the base shade. Science-fiction hardware gains credibility when you add rubbing on the edges, a dark wash into the scribed lines and fine dust on the lower surfaces. Use a brush and thin coats on the figure parts.
